Top Social Networking sites : Facebook, MySpace and YouTube continue to be most visited.

Nowadays Social Networking is what everybody is talking about. It has spread like a wild fire and there are so many networking sites that you can’t even remember them all by their names.

Many of us use these websites for connecting with our friend’s everyday. But don’t you want to know which the best social networking website is in recent times and which of your favorite sites have made to the top.

As per the report from the Hitwise, Facebook continues to dominate the social networking world and is at number one with about 42 percent of total visits followed by one time biggest rival Myspace with 21.3% and YouTube with about 14 percent.

The other major dominators of the same field are the Tagged, Twitter and Yahoo Answers, with 1.7, 1.3 and 1.3 percent of total visits. It’s not enough to know which all sites have been on the top, but it’s significant to know how they have been faring over time. So let’s have a look at how the top five sites have been performing in the last one year in terms of visits.

Facebook which at one time had lesser visits than MySpace, last year has more than doubled its visits now. MySpace visits have dropped significantly in the recent past, and on the contrary visits to YouTube have been quite consistent and has an increased significantly. Twitter and Tagged were approximately at the same number of visits last year but now Twitter has more than three times Tagged visits.
