HP announces the HP Pavilion dv6z Artist Edition Notebook 2 that sports the winning design from the 2008 HP MTV Notebook Design Contest. The winning design was inspired by the sea and sky in Okinawa, Japan.

The HP Pavilion dv6z Notebook PC features a 16-inch LCD display and comes with specs such as AMD’s Turion X2 dual core processor, ATI graphics cards (any choice), Mobility Radeon HD 4530 512MB and Mobility Radeon HD 4650 1GB, 500GB Hard Drive Storage and up to 8GB of RAM.

There is also a DVD SuperMulti burner or a Blu-ray/DVD combo, integrated webcam, 5-in-1 card reader, WiFi and Bluetooth Connectivity. The HP Pavilion dv6z Notebook PC starts at $949.

The HP Pavilion dv6z Artist Edition 2 (starting at $949) includes all of the features of the HP Pavilion dv6z plus the winning design from the 2008 HP MTV Notebook Design Contest – a design inspired by the sea and sky in Okinawa, Japan. Students also can unleash their inner artist with a robust entertainment software package and software applications from Corel, including Video Studio X2, Corel® Painter Sketchpad and Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. The HP Pavilion dv3t is a thin-and-light laptop which is about 1.25-inches thick and weighing just under 5 pounds. As the 3t model name designates, the machine is powered by an Intel processor and features a 13.3-inch display. We checked out its AMD counterpart, the dv3, at CES earlier this year, and found a machine that was more about looks than performance. With a 9-cell battery, the HP Pavilion dv3t is claimed to provide up to 7 hours of battery life. The HP Pavilion dv3t has a starting price of $650, which includes integrated Intel graphics, built-in VGA webcam and a DVD writer. Configuration options include Nvidia GeForce discrete graphics, Blu-ray drive and mobile broadband.
