Google Earth is adding custom map-sharing to its iPhone app — so you can share your favorite places in Barcelona or a preferred hiking trail with friends. While logged into Google Maps on a computer, you can save maps you’re interested in so they’ll appear when you log in to your iPhone app with the same credentials. You can also build your own maps in Google Earth manually or by hooking up a GPS-enabled device and turning your location data into a KML file.
